About the NASAAEP Summit...

The NASAAEP Summit has become one of the country’s premiere conferences for responders to animals in disasters and provides a forum for personnel and organizations working on emergency management of pets and livestock to meet, network, obtain the latest technical information and develop a shared vision through: Identifying critical mission-specific best-practices pertaining to key animal emergency response and support tasks; Identifying best practices pertaining to integration of animal issues into the whole of emergency management at the Local, State, Territorial, Tribal, and National level; Sharing information supporting planning efforts, including organizing and supporting State and Local animal emergency response capabilities including State Animal Response Teams (SARTs) or similar programs and veterinary medical reserve programs; Communicating mechanisms for disaster resource mobilization via Federal, Local, Non-governmental sources, State, Territorial, and Tribal sources; and Securing commitments to take needed next steps to ensure continued progress in animal emergency management meeting the Federal requirements set forth in the Pet Evacuation and Transportation Standards (PETS) Act now held within the Stafford Act. 2016 marks the Tenth Anniversary of the signing of the Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards (PETS) Act.  Join us as we celebrate the anniversary of the law that helped changed emergency response to include the ENTIRE family and save more lives and entire families.
